The holiday season is a perfect time to get crafty and make special decorations for your home. Our MilkPaint™ is the perfect companion for your most festive craft projects! Throughout the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing all sorts of clever ways you can make your own holiday decorations this season.

Let’s start with 5 ways you can make Christmas ornaments using clothespins!

Supplies Needed

• Large and small clothespins

• Hot glue gun with glue sticks

• Small jingle bells

• Butcher paper to protect your surface from paint

• Small cups for mixing MMS MilkPaint™ (Dixie cups work great!)

• Room temperature water

• Your favorite MilkPaint™ colors (We used Mora, Bergere, Curio, Boxwood, and Farmhouse White)

• Ribbon

• Small artist’s paint brush

You can purchase MMS MilkPaint™ from our fabulous retailers. We found the rest of the supplies from our local Walmart. You can also shop from your local craft store.

We’ve got a complete video tutorial to show you how to make 5 different Christmas ornaments using clothespins. Before you watch, read through these tips. They’ll help you as you make each one.

Removing The Clothespin Springs

To make each ornament, you’ll need to remove the spring mechanism from your clothespins. Twist the two wooden arms in opposite directions, and gently wiggle the spring free.

Make sure you save those springs for later. We’ll show you how to create ornaments with them!

Mixing Your MilkPaint™

If you’re new to mixing our MilkPaint™, this video will show you how it’s done!

To make your clothespin ornaments, you’ll need to pick a few different colors. For these snowflake ornaments, pick 2 complimentary colors.

We used Bergere and Mora from our European Collection. They certainly look very “icy” together!

We’ll also show you how to make little Christmas trees.

You can use any of our shades of green for the “leaves”. We used Boxwood, but you can use Lucketts Green, Layla’s Mint or even mix your own! For the trunk, we used Curio.

Use A Small Artist’s Brush

You’ll be painting a LOT of clothespin arms! We suggest using a small artist’s brush. It’s the perfect size and will help you wiggle MilkPaint™ into all of the nooks and crannies.
